Contract Support - With the changes from the new pharmacy contracts coming into effect, independent pharmacists will need to adapt to a system that rewards service quality and not just prescription volumes. Pharmacists need to spend more time with patients and other healthcare professionals to deliver high quality services in line with local development plans.

 

New contract support - Numark continues to assist its members in meeting the requirements of the new contract and the following are just some of the initiatives Numark are delivering:

 

  • Practical workshops on helping members deliver MUR and better understand CPD and specifically for Scotland preparing for the Minor Ailments Service and the Public Health Service
  • A range of medicines management programmes that include CHD, diabetes and smoking cessation
  • A clinical governance (CG) toolkit covering the seven elements of CG. (e.g. SOPs)
  • Training for the whole pharmacy team

 

The commercial programmes we also offer are:

 

Generics - The Numark / Teva CPXtra scheme rewards those pharmacies who are loyal to the scheme. By spending more than £2000 per month on Teva generics you will receive competitive Contract Prices comparable to national short line prices. In addition, by dispensing the Teva brand against all of your generic prescriptions you can achieve an extra rebate of up to 7.5% of net price.

 

Parallel Imports - With any PI programme, it is critical that not only does it deliver on price but also delivers on availability of stock. The Numark PI programme does that. This is a net price scheme with a 1% rebate if customers spend £7000 across 120 lines. Other benefits of joining the Numark PI programme include:

Brand Support - For those pharmacists who prefer to dispense brands to generics or PI's then the Numark brand support programme is ideal. The programme is flexible in that members can choose from a range of over 275 products from a number of suppliers, including Pfizer & GSK.

 

The benefits of supporting this programme is that it allows an independent pharmacist to compete with the major multiples by offering branded products to patients, thus building on customer loyalty.
